Sertraline is Zoloft; Amitriptyline is Elavil.
I have been on both for a long time, as a way to help cope with chronic pain. I have had such great luck with a combination of the two. I take 50mg of Sertraline and about 5 of Elavil, both at night. Side effects will happen with lots of these drugs. But they get better. Don't give up. Too much Elavil makes me kind of sketchy and irritable; the Zoloft/Sert. does not do this.
Hang in there. Relief is out there. I have had so many years of baseline happy because of these drugs. Blue days still dawn, but I catch on that it is chemical, not something wrong with who I am as a human being. Much peace and love coming your way!
