I have brain fog like thing, not able to concentrate at all , inability to think, forgetfulness, distracted,.fatigue in whole body.

Doctors are prescribing antidepressants one after another ,it has been 5 years now ,there is no improvement in my concentration and Memory.

I don't know ,what is happening to me.

I don't feel depressed or anxious but still being prescribed antidepressants ,why?

Has anyone experienced these kind of symptoms?

I am sorry you have not been able to get any real help with this...was just wondering if you don't mind me asking. Have you ever been tested for dyslexia or dispraxia...both have symptoms like what your describing...some not. It's not just seeing letters backwards, these conditions cover a lot of 'zoned out' types of feelings some have. It could be a physical thing and not mental or emotional. Your diet, vitamins, food intake, a lot of things can also effect your concentration and fatigue. I would ask for a full physical and blood panel work up.

I definitely often feel as you described in your first sentence. This week I have definitely felt tired and/or sleepy during the day. This is especially bad because I need to be looking for a full time job, and I need to spend 40 hours a week doing it. However, I definitely have depression and I also believe I may have attention deficit disorder. All three of my kids have it, no hyperactivity involved, just almost impossible to stay focused, and ADHD medications do help. It sounds like the only thing you and I have in common, however, are the things mentioned in your first sentence. Unfortunately, the only two causes that come to mind, depression and ADD, have already been ruled out in your case. It sure is frustrating! I have been considering asking my doctor to test me again for under-active thyroid disease, as some of these things could be symptoms of that.

How long have you been suffering from this and was this present in childhood?

I don't think I had too many of these problems when I was younger, mostly being easily distracted and forgetful. But all the symptoms increased with age, and I have been feeling really fatigued for a few weeks now. I think part of it is stress, because I really need a job and I feel panicky and paralyzed, and I feel like my family is judging me, although they've never given me cause to think so. Also in therapy I have come across some sort of repressed memories of bad things from early childhood, and it has used up a lot of energy over the years to keep pushing these to the back of my mind. I found a good therapist, but even though she gave me a much discounted fee, I cannot afford her right now, and I have not really been dealing with all this stuff on my own.

But this was not supposed to be all about me. Sorry.
