Hello everyone,

I'm new to this website and I decided to join in hopes of finding some sort of relief to this awful mental illness. I've suffered with anxiety and panic disorder since I was 7 years old and I have yet to figure out what triggers the attacks or how to control it. I've tried homeopathy, paroxetine, CBD oils, and nothing seems to help. I am currently giving acupuncture a go, and I hope to I developed depression two years ago after running through many trial and errors. Lately, I've been feeling more and more hopeless. It's affected my job, social life, and overall health. I'm currently a second year college student and i'm finding trouble making it through the entirety of my classes. I'd love to get some feedback. I'm excited to have joined this website and be able to converse with people who finally understand me. Thanks so much for taking the time to read this.

Hi! I think you will find how similar your situation is to many of us. College is extremely anxiety provoking, however there are ways to feel better. Do you feel that you have to leave class because it’s information overload? Can u tell what exactly is your trigger for the panic? I definitely recommend talk therapy. You should also check to see if there is an on-campus group or meet-up group that focuses on this. It definitely helps to talk to people and this forum should do that for u as well. I had to learn some major coping tools to manage my anxiety and panic. Once I realized what I was feeling and how the body works or how my body is “wired”, I was able to accept it and prevent episodes. I hope this helps. Feel free to message me anytime. I totally get it.

Hi😅 I agree with these other posters. Is there a college counsellor there too? Which country do you live in please?

I struggled through college A levels in the UK and a degree. I still struggle at work! I help people in my work, my struggles are more my own. Gl

Sorry fellow sufferer. I do not think we can figure out our own illness/cause. Yes we know what it is but then what to do?. In my experience I have learnt Neurotransmitters, (we ALL have them in our brain) are not working properly and probably need some help. i.e. Medication, that is not an easy one to solve but mental health is improving. I am 75 so have had all kinds of treatment (including electric shock)/ hospital incarnation, and countless pills. Sometimes they work and work for a few years, others do not, I call it pill roulette. Also finding the right Dr. of Psychiatry plays a lot in my recovery. Do not blame yourself, feel guilty or any of those negative thoughts. You are young, do not allow suffering to run your life, you need to be well and enjoy the life that lays a head of you. Read any good material you can get your hands on, on line at the library, so you can understand your illness and the options that go with it.

Remember suffering is optional - talk to us we will help you. I send you strength, love & Hugs. Sprinkle 1
