Making friends is way too difficult....

Why does it have to be so hard to make friends as an adult? I have a couple friends and really only one i ever spend time with. No one else ever contacts me to hang out or anything like that. My best friend is moving 14 hours away soon and I'm so upset and hurt about it but I'm also scared about being alone and having no one to spend time with or who calls me and wants to get food or go to the store or whatever. I dont know how to make friends as an adult really. I can make work aquaintances but thats about all. I dont know what to do or where to start or anything......I'm really scared about being alone....

I'm so sorry you are feeling alone. One idea is to get involved in social groups, community groups, and try to find courage to be the friend you hope to gain. You may consider volunteering at a local homeless shelter or some kind of group where you're able to give, and form relationships.
