Can it be (mild) serotonin syndrome?

Need some support. After waking up all crying and low on Saturday I talked to the doc and we agreed the Prozac (20 mg) wasn’t working. He switched me to lexapro 10 mg. It’s the second day and I’m in a constant state of panic! Experiencing shivers too and mildly diluted pupils. He gave me hydroxyzine but today it’s not doing enough and I’m worried I can’t take it anymore. It’s probably my anxiety that is scaring me, but it is scaring me. Also hydroxyzine affects serotonin too so could the cocktail be too much? Prozac still in my blood, 10mg Lexapro and the hydroxyzine...

Or is my anxiety playing me tricks?

When I started lexapro I felt the same way, completely felt like I was losing it. I was told this was normal and that it wasn’t uncommon for the anxiety to be heightened while your body adjusts. I’m thinking you are probably just experience this very very unpleasant side effect. Makes no sense to me how a drug to treat anxiety is supposed to be affective if it actually increases it at first. I was having a hard time managing at work so I stopped taking it but I have heard that it gets better, I just couldn’t deal.

Thank you so much. It’s a bit of a relief. I’ll ask the doctor for some benzo’s to see if that can make me cope better. Did you try anything else?

If I’m remembering correctly I tried Prozac as well, had some similar issues with side effects. I also drink a bit more than I should which does not interact well with these, causes an increased “drunken” state which caused more anxiety for me and not drinking was really hard so I went back on Bupropion to try to help the depression and energy level. I haven’t found anything that really fixes everything.
