Getting through

Today is just another day of getting through; another exhausting day of waiting until it’s finally time to sleep again. I can’t even focus on a single task, too many thoughts about how I don’t know how to do this life like everyone else and I have no idea how to fix it.

I’m so sorry you are feeling this way. There are a lot of others who feel like you do as well including me some days. I’m just now after a year starting to have a few good days. You are not alone.

How long have you felt this way? Have you had any counseling, or been to see a doctor?

I’m glad you decided to come here and talk about it. Please keep posting.

I’m so glad to hear you are having good days :). This comes and goes...i try, I try really hard to be engaged in life and sometimes I do find things or people that grab me and give me purpose but those things/people always seem to leave me behind bc I can keep up, bc I need extra time, extra something. I feel like I give so much and I ask for help to keep me going but it always becomes too much for others and I’m left in the dust.

Ashleigh429, there are many of us who get so overwhelmed and bored with life. Repeatedly doing the same thing over and over daily. Same thing, different day. Life isn't about being mundane and just going through the motions. It's about living and breathing and greeting each day we are given. It's about creating joy for ourselves.

Just doing a little something different each day, something to look forward to no matter how small can be like a refreshing rain to your mind. You can't focus on a single task when there are so many thoughts going through your mind. No one could. Prioritizing your life and attacking each issue one at a time will help lower your stress.

Re-establishing your self esteem and confidence in yourself will allow you to go forward in ease. Stepping out of your comfort zone, not allowing the negative thoughts to take over is the approach to take. Be a doer not a taker. You have the power in you to change someone else's day by a smile. So many lonely people out in this world, you can be the one who can start making a difference and at the same time be helping yourself.

Sleep at the end of the day from exhaustion and not escape is the goal of the day. Keep coming on the forum. Talk with others who like yourself have found ways to brighten their life, to find positive challenges that keep their spirit alive.

We only have one chance to do this, there are no "retakes" in life. Make it a great day Ashleigh :) xx

Thank you so much for your reply; I read it at work and it really did help. I try to stay positive and even if it’s a bad day say today will be better. They just haven’t been getting better lately; every day has been a new battle to fight and I’m tired of feeling like I’m fighting it alone. And for what reason??! Why??? What is it exactly that I’m fighting for?? Just another day like today??

Try not to get discouraged Ashleigh. It takes time to reverse our way of thinking. The changes have to come from you in what you are able to change. And accept the things you cannot. (from the Serenity Prayer)

Doing things you enjoy when not at work will release the stress as well as lift your spirits some. Hope you enjoy your evening. Treat yourself xx

Believe me Simonn in that it didn't happen overnight. It's a lifelong progress

in seeing what works and what doesn't. :)

Hi Ashleigh429, I'm in the same place too. I'm dealing with my anxiety and depression daily. It's very hard that we all have this sadness and pain were going through. For me its like an internal battle inside of me. The worst part is all the physical symptoms/sensation my brain makes to our bodies. We try to cope with it and finding ways to manage it or get it to the point to minimize it so we can function. Going to work, out running errands, family gatherings, etc. Things we have to do in life. I wish I could just stay home. But that cannot happen. Maybe you can see a therapist that specializes in depression/anxiety to help cope. I just starting seeing one because I decided I needed help. Take care.

I know, just so we can function...I don’t want to just function, I want to live!

I have several days a month where I cannot wait to go to sleep. What kind of life is this? I should want to live each day to the fullest, but instead I like to sleep. In this, you are not alone.

I’m the same way...either I sleep and I don’t have to deal with the thoughts or maybe, just maybe I might dream of how I want my life to be and I can be happy then, even if it’s not real.
