My anxiety got so bad this morning that I called my doctor and went in to see him. He has been my doctor for years and knows me quite well. He prescribed Klonopin 1mg at bedtime until my body is fully weaned onto Zoloft 100mg. I’m on day 10 of Zoloft and weaning quicker than normal to get to my base dose (dose I had been on for 20 years b4 stopping 6mo ago). Because we are weaning me on so fast my anxiety and panic are not so abnormal, but necessary to get me back to my normal quickly. Doc says the Klonopin will help with anxiety and panic as my brain adjusts to the serotonin levels. He wants me to take it for a month as needed and follow up with him in a few weeks. Anyone else have good, bad, or neutral experiences with Klonopin?

Any experience with Klonopin?
I take 0.5 morning and night as needed. Just started back on it 1 month ago, after being off it for many years. I works well. You might be tired tomorrow but that goes away quickly. Great drug, very helpful
I take two 0.5 mgs to help sleep. It works but leaves me groggy in the morning. In the rare cases that I get bad anxiety in the day, I break one of the tablets in half. If I took a full one in the day it would knock me out. It takes two to do it at night which is weird.
Good luck with it and plan taking it about a half hour before bed (unless you were given different directions). It takes me a half hour to an hour.
I have been taking Klonopin for years. Take .5 mgs. about 3 times a week. I take it when I first get up because that is when my anxiety is the worst.
I have been taking Klonopin for years. I take .05 in morning, .05 at noon and .05 at night. It helps me a lot. If I take 1mg I know that in one hour I’ll be asleep.
I took it. .5 mg it didn’t give me any problems.
I have been on Klonopin for 7 years and it has really helped me. My doctor told me I would probably be on it for the rest of my life.
Didn’t think you could take klonopin long term? Would love to take it the rest of my life but no dr will give it to me.
We have such a similar story with Zoloft. And I LOVE klonopin. At first it can make you drowsy so you can’t take it during the day. I’ve been on it for a year and I can now take it during the day too. I take it once a day but if I’m having really bad anxiety, I take another one which my doctor said is fine. Definitely give it a chance. If you have day anxiety, you can take a lighter anxiety medication like vistrual or vibryd. And stay on the Klonopin for nighttime. I hope this helps. Good luck 👍🏼
Hello hunter4ransom. I've been on klonopin for about a year now. .5mg twice a day and it's my miracle. It really does help. The mornings are the hardest for me. Having to drag myself out of bed to face the day. I take klonopin and buspirone first thing when I wake up and within about a half hour, my mind and body calms and I'm able to think rationally. Then I take the same thing again in the evening so I'm able to sleep. Great drug. I hope you have a good experience with it too
I had an usual amount of anxiety in January. I was taking .5 Klonopin and it wasn't cutting it. The doc gave me ativan- didn't help, next tried Xanax didn't help. Then seraquil- Had a bad reaction. it stopped the anxiety but I started stuttering really bad. I had my meds reevaluated I take 1mg klonopin during the day it cuts my anxiety and another dose at bed and it is helping my insomia .
