hi im new here... iv just been told 2 weeks ago by my doctor that i have anxiety and depression and was put on an anti depressant but i feel like its doing nothing for me everything is worse and more intence most of the time i feel like im going crazy and i dont know what to do and just wish it would stop and to be okay again i dont feel like myself and last week i had a break down bec i couldnt take it and i feel like im already going down that road and its gonna happen again and i dont know that i can do about it i have a doctors appointment tomorrow to talk about my med she has me on i just dont know what to say or do about how im feeling

Let me start by saying you aren’t alone. There are lots of us here going through or have gone through exactly what you are describing.

What are you taking and for how long? It takes time. When I first staring having panic attacks it took a while to find the right antidepressant. I went thru Zoloft and Paxil before I found Effexor which was the one that worked for me. I was on it for about a year before I stared weaning off.

Hello, I understand how you feel, your Dr. should have told you that it takes at least 6 weeks for the med to work and there probably be side effects. Did they not give you a print out with the prescription? I always read those thru at least twice and use my yellow marker for any questions. thank you guys for the advice and the comments back its been really stress ful right now with the holidays they have uped my dose on my prozac and added a med for my anxiety it seems to be working i now have more good days then bad but still go throw a bad day here or there
