Yesterday we chose to remove a post from this community, and after many responses from you decided it was best to explain our reasoning behind this.
Although we have a great respect for user's personal beliefs and lives, we want this community to remain inclusive and supportive of every user.
In this instance, we felt that the post did not support the interests of the wider community, and removed it. I fully understand why many of you disagree with this matter.
However, I want to stress that on an anonymous online community, discussions around topics like religion can become very heated and are often badly expressed, or can be taken the wrong way. Posts that generate many angry replies because of miscommunications are not a good welcome for new members to the community and are not conducive to the kind of positive, helpful atmosphere we are trying to generate here to give you all a safer space.
I hope you can understand the reasoning behind this! Please do feel free to private message me if you wish to discuss this matter further, but in the interests of moving the community forward, no more posts should be created bringing this topic up again.
Thank you for your commitment to the ADAA community,

Hi. In all fairness I haven't seen the post to have a detailed reply. However I understand the concept of respecting other people's belief system; especially in my experience, that involves some academic study of religions. I found people often find the details of this concept very difficult to grasp at the onset.
Here we also have to take into accout effect of anxiety, medication, ect too that can impair understanding of an emotional, hot topic.
Therefore may I suguest that you add examples to your btw very clear explanation. To the person I can't find who said talking of religion is their constitutional rights needs to be clarified by someone better skilled at US laws than me.
Thank you for highlighting those is an INTERNATIONAL site.
And that it's a HEALTH not a Religious forum.
I suggest examples like "ONLY God X" saves us means that you're undermining God Y.
"OUR father .." is not someone's else's "father"
Try saying "for me God X has helped me".
Or
"My God X .. hope you get the same help according to your beliefs."
If in doubt change God X in your text to another deity you are not sure about and see if YOU find it acceptable.
Understand it's a minefield. That's why we also say : No Religion, No Politics" at the dinner table to keep the peace. Well same concept.
If anyone wants to PM me for help on this I'm happy to try. Do bear in mind please I'm having as yet uncontrolled migraine so might be delays in replies. 💗
Oh you did! Thank you. That's very kind of you. I unfortunatly neither saw your post / reply, nor could find it anywhere under your name. Could you kindly give me the link for it please? 💗
