Hi, Palmer2425.... Sorry to hear that your struggling with sleep, I had that problem for months it made me sick, I know how you feel.

I've been to the GP several times because of my physical Symptoms due to my Anxiety and depression!

I won't bore you with the details... But like you my mind was racing none stop and especially at night, but once I was looking into way to help me relax and to get to sleep, I read up on meditation and yoga, so I've tried meditation wih spa music playing in the background, which helped a little... But I realised it helped more with a movie or just having the tv on in the back ground. Also you can try having an extra pillow to snuggle up with? I haven't tried yoga yet but I'm planning to find a good studio that's not to expensive to try it out. I have managed for the last week been able to get up to 6-7 hours of sleep every night now and it has helped me feel more relaxed and happier.

try and find something that you enjoy and cheers you up to do in the evening as this will calm your mind and over active thinking, and you'll find yourself to feel more relaxed before bed. It won't happen over night it will take sometime but it will help?

all the best and i hope you will start to get to have a good nights sleep?

keep us posted.

kind regards

Excellent advice. On top of that, I'd suggest exercising (like walking, gardening etc) as much as possible during the day, and don't play with your phone in the middle of the night (avoid blue light).

I agree with the other posts. Excercise and meditation are excellent. YouTube is a great source for mediation videos. Search for self hypnosis videos for sleep and insomnia. Some are better than others. I bookmark the ones I like.

In addition, I've personally cut back on sugar and caffeine consumption. Those are fuels for anxiety and insomnia. It's helping

I also keep a notepad around bed to jot down thoughts n ideas . Seems that if they are on paper they are out of my head and keeping me up.

Good luck ✌️
