I have been sweating for about 4 yrs now just after they removed my thyroid due to cancer,I was sure it was because of my thyroid but all the doctors etc seem to think its due to anxiety, my question is does anyone else have this problem, it seems to be only my top half mainly my face head and neck area it is so bad I look like I have just stepped out of the shower it has stopped me from living really,I used to work in a jewellers store, you know the deal full face makeup etc can hardly sell diamonds or anything looking like Ive just been for a swim ....so any suggestions to stop the sweating would mean the world to me .
P.S I am a first time poster so be gentle lol ...although along time stalker

Hi welcome to community. When I lost my mum suddenly about 3 and half years ago .... I started the menopause. I was roughly 45. I have been suffering with sweating, chest, head, neck etc ... the heat that comes from me along with sweat is unreal. I have fans going at home in winter, I have my bed positioned by windows. During the day at work, I open windows to let in fresh air, but I work with unsympathetic colleagues that complain and make fun.
It is embarrassing as I am dripping and it can make you feel sickly. I am paranoid about what I wear and keep deodorant on me at all times.
Iv researched this been numerous times back and two to GP. I have had blood test fir menopause showing I was 3 quarters of the way through and then a year later they stated I was at the beginning of my menopause m, which did not make sense to me. Apparently hormones fluctuate was the answer to that one. They recommend herbal tabs, they didn't help. So I have just been battling through it, which as been terrible with the hot weather.
I have asked people that has suffered sweating, one states get hrt, but doctor want give it to me. They recommend I try flouexitine which is good for hot flushes.
However, I am recently battling through anxiety and panic attacks. I am now wondering if these sweats are a symptom of anxiety ! I'm monitoring it. I have felt there is a difference however. I feel the hot flush rising up. This time it's full on sweating. I am certain this time it's anxiety sweating.
I started having heavy sweating after taking Anafranil, an older antidepressant. It was one of it's side affects. Sweat would just drip off my forehead. My dosage got reduced by half but now I'm much older so am in menopause plus overweight. Any small level of exertion and I start sweating, anxiety does make it worse. The head sweating runs in my family but not as badly as mine. See a dermatologist I know they have solution for heavy sweaters.
