Hi, all. I was panic free for 5 years. However, a recent illness seems to have triggered my anxiety. I'm having panic attacks again. Has anyone experienced anything like this?

Triggered anxiety
I got my first ever panic attack just a couple of months ago so I'm still new to them. However I remember my doctor telling me that panic attack a can happen more so when your sick if your over stressing while sick. That might not make a lot of sense but something to do with the off changes in our bodies during being sick. Sorry if this isn't helpful
Thanks for replying. I'm over the sickness now but still having panic attacks. Sorry you're going through this. It's pretty awful.
I've been pretty good for years, but had a ton of changes in life in april/may (good changes), and suddenly started having panic attacks again. We upped my paxil that I've been on forever, but they continued to no avail. Bad thing is my main trigger is what I do for work, so I haven't been in 2 weeks. We are currently switching my meds and I hope Lexapro helps. I'm 36 and have dealt with this since I was 6. My last big "snap-ola" was in 2001, when i was getting married, my parents were getting divorced, his parents were getting divorced, and my fiance had a bad wreck. My psychiatrist says any major event (like an illness) can trigger panic attacks.
