Hey there,
Ive faced multiple panic disorders over the years, but I guess luckily for me they weren't severe. But I think its because I let my anxiety of letting others down get in the way of letting the panic attack shut me down for the day... If that makes any sense. Just in the moment if you can grab something, whether its your own hand, chair, stair rail, person. Grab something, that way you know you're not going anywhere. And the key is to breath and continue going. Don't let the panic attack stop you in your tracks.. Now thats what Ive always done. Hope I could help a little bit.
How about counselling? If you don't want to go the medical route then you will have to try the self help one. Look at mindfulness, meditation and yoga for a start. There is lots of info about them online. Good luck.
