job situation. I have been teaching for 26 years in the field of special education. Last year my administrators gave me some problems. This year they have put me on an improvement plan. They have given me more work to do and have observed me a lot. Today I got an email saying the my special education boss and my superintendant want to meet with me on Tuesday. The minute I heard this my anxiety increased. I hate these meetings, because I get nervous and freeze up. Any advice?

Wow, that is tough. I wish you well, and will be thinking about you with the meeting. I hope . It sounds like you are a dedicated long term teacher , and you've had some real challenges with students. I also hope that you have the backing of co workers and parents of kids for whom you were there. If you are up to it, please let me know how it goes.
Hope for the best and prepare for the worse. Keep in mind what is most important and that is you. If the worst thing that happens is you lose your job, do your best to deal with it. In the meantime, it can't hurt to start looking and seeing what types of jobs are out there that you may be interested in.
Sounds like you at least have a choice to stay at the school which is good. Sorry to hear you are not feeling well, but at least the meeting is over. Are the decisions whether to remain in teaching? I hope that since you have some tough students and have had some challenges yourself that you have an option to transfer if possible. Teaching is tough as we know not only with the kids but being managed by supervisors and parents as well.
