my dad failed zytiga and xtandi- he has a somatic BRCa 2 mutation and they are switching him
To lynpraza- I am a nervous wreck and just wondering if anyone has a positive experience with a parp - he’s 81 some normal heart issues that are stable- he has bone mets and the last two
Years they were stable and just recently mildly progressed. Any suggestions or positive thoughts would be helpful.

One day at a time Chris. My dad is 80. He broke his leg, went rapidly downhill, and got nixed from radium 223 treatment he was supposed to start in April. Now I wonder whether all his chemo/treatments etc was worth it, it's made his bones so frail and he lost all muscle tone. Zytiga worked for him for less than a year. Now I'm just thankful every day he's still with us. Every day is a gift. There is so much suffering involved in this awful illness. At this point I want comfort and peace of mind for my dad above anything.
Try to focus dad on basics of living like keeping him busy, active and engaged. Keeping the mind engaged is possibly better than any drug.🙏
I too am BRCA2 positive. Started Lynparza in December of 2023 and have had great luck with it. It worked quickly and effectively. Only SE I have to deal with is anemia which is annoying but manageable. Currently on a 3/4 dose to help with red and white blood cell count. See MO next month and am hoping to reduce dosage to half dose. Been great for me. Good luck to your dad moving forward. No new mets nor progression of existing ones. Also, this med is quite expensive, if you go to "AZ and Me" they have assistance programs. I make too much for low income program but was accommodated any ways. Have been receiving free meds for duration of treatment
I am on it after nubeqa stopped working. It is better than if I did not take it, but my psa is rising again. The side effects are manageable for me, but I may have to do other treatments.
I have taken the same path. I’m 77 and have prostate cancer with bone Mets
I too went though all the pills and came to Lymparza. I had to Ween myself on to it for about a month. The hardest of drugs to that point but I got 2 years out of it.
Currently im on my 4 th round of Pluvicto
It’s a marathon. Your Dad has Plenty to go. Just support him. Your DRs are doing their job
