Eligard and Muscle pain

I am 26 months into my ADT and generally tolerating well.I was first on firmagon shots monthly then switched to Lupron Depot 3 monthly but on my last visit 2 weeks ago Nurse gave me Eligard injection .My blood tests came out great PSA still undetectable but I am having severe muscle pain last few days and the only thing that is changed is the Eligard although they say its same as Lupron. Did anybody experience this with Eligard ? I googled side effects of Eligard and it says pain may go away in a few weeks so I would like to hear from fellow members their take on this .I am also on daily dose of Erleada and that also has side effects but not like this ! I find it painful even to walk and at first I thought I may be covid but I have no other symptoms then I realized it happened after the Eligard shot

I had the same pain issues with Eligard. I make sure I confirm it’s Lupron every 3 months now. If I remember correctly, my pain lasted a few months. Bad at first then slowly got better. I was getting the heavy dose 6 month version. I’ve since switched to 3 month Lupron and I tolerate it quite well.

I've been on 3 month Eligard for 18 months. As far as general full body muscle pain goes, I haven't had any. Just some tenderness around the injection site. I've now learned to take the weight off the leg that's getting the injection, a lot less site pain.

Have no experience with Eilgard. I started out on monthly Firmagon shot and switched to Orgovyx (daily ADT pill) to avoid the belly shots. I have tolerated Orgovyx well and have maintained undetectable PSA for 30 plus months. On that bases my Oncologist has suspended ADT and will be testing me monthly for any rise in PSA. It’s taken over 30 days for Orgovyx to leave my body but I am gradually starting to see increased energy and reduced hot flashes. I’m due to get labs in three weeks to check PSA and testosterone levels. You may want t consider Orgovyx as an alternative to Eligard. I experience the usual side effects of energy loss and hot flashes but no muscle pain during my two years of taking it. Hope this helps. Good luck.

I have been on either Lupron or Eligard since 2016 and have not noticed a difference in the side effects from either of them. When the T is gone, your muscles are in play for side effects. Mine are just strength and stamina. But we're all at least a bit different.

I've only been on Lupron 3 month injection. About 30 months. No side effects, luckily. No experience with Eligard.

My husband had pain from Parkinson's before he even went on Eligard so I don't have a thought about that side affect. I do know that sometimes low Magnesium accounts for some of those kinds of symptoms . I hope you find some relief.

Is it whole body pain? Concentrated on any one area? Pain can be a bitch....so keep pestering your M.O. or tell him/her you will see a different M.O. for help.

I've had "multiple" kidney stones (left side/right side) and I know about pain.

Good Luck, Good Health and Good Humor.

I have pain on my hips and legs especially back of my thighs. When I lie down or sit ,the pain goes away but it gets severe walking or getting up and down.I had a full blood test 2 weeks ago and everyting looked great so my MO does not think it is from cancer.I had a bone density scan today ,lets see how that would come out .I started taking Calcium and Magnesium in addition to my regular Vitamin Ds .I neglected my exercises for a couple of months so I want to restart but I don't know if I can do it cos even walking gives me pain.Thank you for your good wishes

I have been on Eligard for 8.5 consecutive years, have yet to experience any noticeable muscle pain. Best of luck, Marshall.

Just to update my care provider reached out to me and apparently it was not first time I had Eligard. In fact I had it last 3 times so it is strange that I have so much pain in my legs.My bone density scan showed low bone density but it is not on alarming level .Probability of a fracture in next 10 years is 6% so that would not explain the pain either.PAin gets worse getting up and walking.I get knife pain in my leg and sometimes on my heel. Also MO team says they don't think it is from cancer since my latest blood worked on cancer markers were good
