Here we go again….

My Joe’s PSA has doubled again over the last three months….3.6. Still very low, but the second doubling in 6 months.

He’s been on lupron since his chemo series in 2017. He added Zytiga in 2019 (PSA had gone back to 11)

Recommendation now to re-do taxotere series (x 10 vs past x 6 doses), then add xtandi as follow-up….continuing lupron, Zytiga, too.

Going to do some blood testing for genetic markers, etc.

Any new studies I can be reading to give us additional options?

Thanks!

Cate

Stay with zytiga for now. It seems to be working.

That sounds like a good plan. Taxotere worked well for him, so it makes sense to try it again.

Has he ever had a biopsy of any of his metastases ? That may suggest some clinical trials.

Hi TA:He has no metastases to test. He had one lung lymph node 5 years ago which has reduced in size such that they say there’s nothing left to test.

Full body scan three months ago showed no mets….

Hoping the new-fangled blood testing will provide some additional info.

He’s prepared for taxotere again….hoping he tolerates it as well as last time and that it buys him 5 years like last time.

Thanks very much for responding, TA.

I hoped I’d hear from you….

You can think about next steps after the Taxotere. Of course, when Taxotere stops working is a perfect time for Jevtana. I wish more people understood how well it works if used early enough in well-selected patients. Your post may move hesitant men to try it.

Thank you again, TA.

I’ll start researching Jevtana.

New plan sounds reasonable., but what scans.. My Na-F18 showed mets that normal old scan and CT missed.

Thanks for your reply, Shooter1. Joe has only had CT scans.

Should I push for a PET scan?

Support for Shooter's comment and a hearty "YES"... NaF is really the standard for bone mets, IMO.
