Gus, doubled the time to castrate resistance compared to what?

So, this protocol means that you do four months, then stop the Lupron, zytiga and prednisone until the PSA rises again. Since my psa drops and rises quickly in both directions then wouldn't it depend on my raw psa #s instead of percentages because my PSA might drop to 1 or 2 within only two months for example. If its a four month Lupron shot then that's in my body for another two months. Are you suggesting just stopping the Zytiga and Prednisone once tha PSA hits a low number or previous nadir?

thanks,

George

My father is on Casodex only (quite typical in our part of the world). We were told than when PSA reaches 1, his therapy will be changes (either increase dose or add Lupron). My I ask what was your PSA before staring treatment?

Thank you for replying. I wish you a looong drug free vacation!

My father only had PSA of 5.2 before starting on Casodex. But he was stage 2b, Gleason 7 (4+3) so they started immediatelly. 3 months on Casodex 150mg and PSA was down to 0.17. They reduce the dose to 50mg and now after being on reduced dose for a year his PSA is 0.53. His doctor would continue the same theraphy but I will seek a second opinion.

Interesting, thank you. What is also interesting in this perspective is, that my father's brother had both thyroid and prostate cancer!
