Hi Everybody! I'm an Adult ADHDer. I was diagnosed with ADHD two years ago at the age of 53. Since then I've been busy learning everything I can, reading, attending Webinars and Conferences and TADD talks and grabbing every free or inexpensive resource (I have time for) about ADHD. I have also been sober since 1995, which is what made this journey possible.
This may sound trite - but I even went to school to become an ADHD Coach through ADDCA.com! I'm in the final stage of pursuing Coaching certification through PAAC and ICF. Starting a business has been challenging to all of my executive functions, but I love my tribe of people and it never ceases to amaze me how passionate and intuitive we are, when we're not jammed up.
Coaching has helped me over the last 2 years, a great deal, and I decided that I wanted to give back. I've heard that giving back is the undocumented final 'stage of grief', and that makes sense to me. You will see me offer my experience, thoughts, or training in various conversations in this forum. I hope you get as much out of my thoughts as I do out of sharing them. I pray that you don't find my ideas offensive.
If you need an ADHD Coach, I'd be more than pleased to talk with you privately. If you know someone else who does, I'm always appreciative of referrals. If you're a coach, therapist, social worker, or other mental health worker, or things are really going very well for you and you're willing to share, THANK YOU. Our world needs as much light as possible.
