I'm new to this chat. Upping my activity level for health reasons but I don't have a sedentary lifestyle anyway and get plenty of steps in walking to and from work and during work. I work full time so after tea I don't always feel like exercise. I could walk before work I guess but I'm not a natural early riser. Any tips?

Hi everyone

Welcome!!!
It sounds like you are already walking quite a bit but you suggest that you lack the needed motivation to add a bit more?
I do wonder if it would help to think about what kind of physical activity you would really like to add. Walking may well be one but there might be others as well.
For instance, there might be the opportunity to
- get into Nordic Walking by taking a course or joining a group
- aiming to hit certain walking achievements, such as walking a certain duration or distance. This can be as part of events or just for yourself. The Active10 app itself has badges that are fun to tick off.
- there are distance based challenges like the annual 1000 mile challenge or the Conqueror Challenges with gorgeous medals.
- there are also fun apps that make any walking activity a lot if fun (see our folder with posts about walking apps at healthunlocked.com/active10... )
Beyond running, there are also other opportunities to add different physical activities. You could consider
- learning how to run with a Couch to 5k running programme (our CouchTo5k forum is at healthunlocked.com/couchto5k )
- starting to go to the gym, exploring with the help of an induction by a physical trainer the different pieces of gym that could offer a lot of fun physical opportunities
- starting some cross training at the gym or at home, from resistance band training to , for instance - indoor rowing. (Our Strength and Flexibility forum is at healthunlocked.com/strength... )
For all above activities, we have sister forums that can help with motivation and insights from other walkers.
The list of forums you can see here: healthunlocked.com/active10...
