94% of the way there now, so this has to be the last postcard. Hope to be on the final leg by tomorrow or Thursday
I'm back at work tomorrow after a fortnight off using up my remaining annual leave. I'm not looking forward to spending nine hours a day sat at a desk, but sadly needs must. Roll on August 2025 when I finally get my state pension, six years later than I expected ๐

I have no private pension as I've never been able to afford one, so it's whatever the Govt give me when I hit 66. I suspect I will still have to work to top up the pittance I will get after 51 years of continuous contributions, God willing that I'm in good enough health by then to continue ๐ค
Still, I am grateful for what I have. My Mum died 6 weeks before she was due her State and teacher's pension aged just 59, so I'm blessed to have out-lived her so far by coming up 5 years๐ and I just hope I don't copy her by popping off 6 weeks before my pension is due ๐คจ
Really good work on the eye of sauren... All the best at work... I hate that I have another seven years extra before I get state pension... Really annoying... You have only 2 years to go I think the years will fly by ๐ซโ๏ธ
โIt is what it isโ is my friend Gโs favourite saying and Iโve started using it more and more in the last 2 years!
I canโt work due to my bowel issues and ill health in general, but I do feel utterly useless at times and it gets me down. I might look into doing some volunteer work again during the summerโฆ
Sending you big love ๐ You may not feel you are able to "contribute" in the "conventiona"l way, but you do great work here and, I am sure, in other areas of your life. You are a wonderful support to me and many others, so don't sell yourself short ๐
I am exploring the option of leaving my paid job and going self-employed. In my day job I work for a national charity as Patient Information and Support Lead and Bereavement Support Worker. I'm now in my 17th year and feel I have given all I can to the job. Also, with my increasing ill-health, I find being tied to regular hours more and more challenging as I never know from one day to the next how fatigue will kick my butt ๐
I am also a holistic practioner (Reiki Master Practitioner and Teacher, Mindfulness and Meditation Practitioner, Sound Therapist, Hypnotherapist, NLP Practitioner, etc) in my spare time - I know, what spare time! - and I'm currently looking at the option of giving up the security of the day job and going out on my own which will mean I can be much more flexible in my work. Watch this space!
