Hello all! Motivated by all our walkers, including Annieapple giving me a gentle nudge, I finally managed to get my walk in after lunch. My work started extra early today, so a morning walk was not on the cards. But I had scheduled myself in (in my work calendar) for a walk after a clutch of meetings and after lunch.
I normally don’t like walking after eating something, but needs must! It was rainy and drizzly, but I had the right coat for the weather, including some comfy gloves. Hubby’s suggestion to take an umbrella was ignored this time, I wanted to focus on embracing the wet elements, while managing to stay warm with the clothes I wore.
Intentionality was the focus for my walk today. Can we learn, as runners, as cyclists and drivers, as people used to a faster way of moving about … can we learn to enjoy this slow movement forward through walking, focussing on something different than just getting from point A to point B?
I focussed on the rain, whilst my hooded head was dry. I focussed on the beautiful, though murky puddles, seeking out a nice angle for a photo. I focussed on the sensation of the swinginess of my arms. I focussed on my breath and the activeness of my gait. And I focussed on the beauty of the music listened to (of course my music had to be a part of this walk).
Day 1 done. What will the other days bring? Let’s find out!
