I went to the doctor's this morning and have been re referred to ENT, YAY π then I took my car to the garage to get a new spare tyre as last week I hit a pothole and burst one, changed it so need a new spare. Apparently I need a set hey ho! How long will it take I ask the kind man, 45 minutes he answers, so... What to do while waiting? Hmm, I could go to the cafe, pay for a cup of tea, wait half an hour for it and leave before it's cool enough to drink....or.....go for a walk along the seafront π€ off I went .I didn't quite make 5k walking in 49 minutes but it was getting near lunch time and I didn't want them to shut up shop and go away for an hour before I got back.
My legs feel amazing, the car feels amazing and hopefully one day my ears will feel amazing
Have a great day π

So annoying Sue, those darned pot holes, nevertheless you made a good decision on going a 49 minute walk while waiting for your car to get a new spare tyre.
Depending on how fast you walk, I find on average I can walk 5K in around 53 minutes, my "record" is 47 minutes when I walked around Springburn parkrun course on a Monday morning, my slowest time to walk 5K was just under one hour but there were a lot of hills, that was yesterday morning as part of a 14K walk which altogether took just under three hours and ten minutes, I had to '.climb' 3 very steep hills, it was quite a contrast to a 16K/10 miles run with a some walking on a much flatter route last Tuesday afternoon in a time of 2:20:22.
It's interesting how walking feels easier now we run isn't it Al? I was never going to sit around waiting for a cup of tea, if I'd thought about it I'd have worn running clothes but I wore smart clothes to go to the doctor's and went to the garage on the spur of the moment while out, your 10 mile time is really good, it took me much longer when I did it back in the summer, I was going to do my long run tomorrow but I'll see how the legs feel in the morning. I walked faster than I usually would
Part of my walk yesterday was up a very steep hill, I was on grass wearing my walking boots, the hill for a very short part was so steep that my boot almost came off and I had to crawl for a few minutes, I certainly won't go that way again. That ten miles time was ran on a different route last Tuesday, not the same as Sunday, I did a lot of walking, only a few weeks ago I ran without stopping another ten miles run in a time of 2:10:30 which was 2 years after my previous 10 miles run, ran in a time of 2:01:28, so I am getting slower which makes me think as I say that from now on 10K will be my longest distance.
Good news all round - well apart from a new set of boots for the car! I hope your ENT consultation goes well π€ I think I am heading down the same route as I've had chronic sinusitis for over 6 months now and after multipe courses of antibiotics it looks like a surgical option is on the cards. Still, with waiting lists the way they are now, and with it being "routine" procedure, I'll probably be waiting another couple of years before it finally (hopefully) gets sorted. Until then lots of antibiotics, steroid nasal sprays, and chronic nosebleeds π
Mine too on the couple of years, but I was referred about a year ago so might only have about one more year to wait, sinuses are horrible I hope you get yours fixed sooner rather than later. Waiting lists are longer than ever, can't be helped though
