Well, I woke up to a damp and drizzling day and aching joints, but I thought positive thoughts! Loaded my trusty Sholley into my car and off I went. That hill is an absolute swine, the gradient is so steep, but I MADE IT TO THE TOP! I must admit I've got an aching back and creaky ankles but nothing extreme - just call me #smug face! PS At least when I go to get my car it's all downhill!

That hill - it's done!
Kay50 that is such great news to read. I am made up for you. You have come so far. If you could have two badges next to your name I would make sure your “I conquered the hill” badge was shining brightly. Very well done 🥇🥂👏.
Oh Rfc thank you so much! Although I'm feeling really smug now I can't tell you how relieved I was to get to the top! I went slow and steady, but I did manage to do it without stopping, which would have been unthinkable even 6 months ago. Joining this forum has absolutely changed my life - I just wish my body would co-operate more consistently!
Your body is doing fine Kay, it has had some massive changes thrown at it and each and every time it has risen to the new challenge, respect and thank it for doing that, I told MrRfc about your amazing accomplishment today and he ask me to let you know he thinks it is fantastic what you have achieved as well. Rest up today. Rfc x.
I appreciate those comments - I do tend to forget just how bad I was a year ago. If you'd told me then I'd be climbing a really steep hill today I'd have thought you'd gone crazy! Please thank Mr Rfc for his kind words!
Well Kay walking up that hill you have done great. I am really happy for you.
Thank you Caroline62 - it's the support of people like you that eggs me on!
I agree there, the forum is the best ever.
Congratulations Kay. I hope it's the biggest smugface for the rest of the week.
Thanks runswithdogs - must admit every time I go upstairs I know I've climbed a hill this week! But it's a good feeling!
Brilliant!!
Thanks mdr1000! It was tough and I won't be doing it again in a hurry! But I do feel good about climbing "that hill"!!!
