Just arrived yesterday. Glad to see the sun and feel some warmth. Went down to town , walked about 13000 steps , down to Funchal and back up to the lido where we are staying. Very Christmassy with decoration and lights, liners in . Hoping to be walking a bit more than back home. . Photo a bit small , but you can enlarge, Mr D standing at the end of pier. Hope everyone had a good Christmas.

That’s a sight fore sore eyes. I’m down with another flu. This year has been the worst for repeated illnesses. Always on holiday, it seems.

So seeing your gorgeous walking environment is allowing me to travel your routes vicariously. Nice!

Oh dear, not good when you feel rough. I am trying to be positive as I take liquid morphine for my fractured sternum.

Remember it can only get better. Raise a glass for 2025, though mine will have to be non-alcoholic.

Feel better soon, CBDB ! I spent last Christmas (2024) with Covid while taking care of my parents who also had Covid (my Dad started it ;) ). Not fun! Fortunately, this year, so far, we managed to stay away from those bugs...

Ooo you lucky things, it's mild but misty here, thanks for sharing your sunshiny photos 😁

Enjoy your holiday in Madeira Doris8, it's nice to see some sunshine, believe it or not it's been very mild in the UK because the wind is coming from where you are but as it travels over the ocean it picks up a lot of moisture, so by the time it arrives in the UK it's very dull and damp, although mild there has not been any sunshine for days on end, what the meteorologists call a tropical maritime airstream.
