Hi there and welcome. We are a friendly supportive bunch. The phrase you will hear us saying the most is take it easy, slow and steady. All of the admins here have come back and are coming back from health issues/surgery and in our experience it is better to have a gradual build up as you get back on your feet. It is more consistent and the body appreciates it. Good luck and keep posting.

Welcome. Building up slow and steady is the way to go. It's tough when you've been benched for awhile due to health issues, I know first hand how antsy it is to want to get back to activity.

Hi Ally6723, so glad you've found us! How wonderful to have a new knee - medical science is truly miraculous sometimes! As the other admins have said, our mantra is "slow and steady":). We're not in a race, which is just as well cos I can't walk very far at all. Lol! But our lovely members will be here to support and encourage you on your journey to better health and regained fitness. Good luck!

Hi Ally6723 and welcome, new knee new you 😉. Yes like everyone one else has said building up slowly is the best way to go. Do you like to walk, or are you just planning to get your steps up first. I have a Fitbit which tracks what I do daily and motivates me. I have a sore knee at the moment so I am taking it easy until it calms down. Good luck

Walking each day for a little, walking with a crutch still, but hope to lose it over the next couple weeks. Seeing my consultant tomorrow so hoping I can start using my exercise bike again also xxxx
