I had just read or listen that the 10,000 steps are the good amount to walk everyday, I am not working at the moment, so most of the time I'm home, but I'll try to get there, already I'm around 4,000 average per day :s I've work to do!

10,000 steps is good to aim for but build up slowly if you are not used to it. Add in 500 to 1000 a day and see how you feel. Well done for getting into your walking.

Sounds like you're off to a good start. Adding even an extra little walk or taking the long way around if you're out can help to increase your step count.

Well done for making the decision to get more healthy! 4000 steps is a good number - I can't do that, so you are doing fine. Building up the distance slowly is the way to go - good luck!

Thank you kay50. that is my plan for today, walking instead of taking the bus for some errands that I have to do.

It's amazing how quickly you can add them up by doing stuff around the house, cleaning, gardening, mowing the lawn etc. I have to drive most places I go, so really do have to make that bit of extra effort to go for an actual walk or jog. I have set my Fitbit to 8,000 and found most active days I can hit that...I should up it to 10,000! Good luck!

Yes, everything counts at the end... I should get a pedometer, currently I'm using an app on the mobile phone, but maybe in order to don't miss anything a device is better, what do you use?

I love my Fitbit as it does so much more than step count. Heart rate and sleep monitor plus lots more
