I've completed three 5Ks this summer and have a 4th scheduled for this Saturday. I like to find some music at the right tempo to help keep me on pace. I walk at about 3.1 mph. Justin Timberlakes's "I've got the feeling" is the right tempo.

Walking is pretty much the same as running which ever pace works for you is right. I use my music to have different walks. Sometimes I will go out for a short fast paced walk which will get me a little out of breath and the music I use for that is closer to running music. Other times I will go long and slow so the beat comes down a bit. I would maybe try a running cd or playlist and see how you feel with it especially if you want to work on your faster walks.

I know there are some websites that you can look up the beats per minute of a song, and find similarly paced songs. Might be worth checking out.
