I've been having a little bit of trouble with my pain relief and just had a call from my donor co ordinator and she has benched me for a week. I have to take things a little slower. She has told me the lightheadedness could be down to overdoing things while my body is in pain.
I am on such low doses of pain relief now to stop the nausea that it is just taking the edge off and it wakes me up through the night. The surgery took 6 hours+ so nearly 2.5 hours more than usual due to the fact they found an extra bit of spleen, so the extra time and complications added in with the extra anaesthetic will take time to recover from. So I'm to slow down my speed and distance of walks to be kind to my body.
I'm a little miffed but it makes sense and I want to make sure I do my recovery properly. It is so important to look out for these little signs and listen to them, it will make your recovery smoother in the long run.
Wishing you all a happy healthy week
Rfcx.

I know you're really sensible and you listen to all the advice. Please don't be brave, be especially gentle on yourself, because you're worth it! Big hugs xxxx
How frustrating RFC - I know you want to get moving. On the plus side, you'll probably feel much better after an extra week of recovery. Sending the most salubrious thoughts your way.
Thank you. I think it's time I realised this isn't a race and do what is necessary. Running has taught me a little patience with things like this. Who would of thought!
Thank you. Thanks for the trips out ๐. Apparently my recover is going well considering, so I can't complain. Hehe Even though I feel like I'm doing nothing but complain...๐.
