Mass in thigh

I banged my thigh on a bed a year ago and it bruised really badly. Eventually the bruise did go but now I have a lump there. It doesn’t hurt and you can’t feel any edges as to where it starts or ends. Any ideas ?

It’s possible this is a Hematoma..but see your GP to have this confirmed.

A hematoma is a collection of blood. A bruise is a type of hematoma. A hematoma may form in a muscle or in the tissues just under the skin. A hematoma that forms under the skin will feel like a bump or hard mass.

Thank you I went this morning they said possibly from the Injury but are sending for an urgent ultrasound anyway - obviously I googled it so trying not to freak out about soft tissue sarcoma. Really appreciate your comment x

Sounds a bit like a hematoma I've had before but it's always best to check with your health care provider as they are the only ones able to give you actual answers.

Hi. I got a huge bang two years ago an same thong happend. Bowen therapy was excellent in reparing the fascia in that area. No more hardness...

Thank you I have an ultrasound tomorrow and I’m petrified if soft tissue sarcoma. This will give me something else to google at least thank you x

So just got back from the hospital. It was another lipoma. Characteristics different because of where it was on the thigh there is no where for it to go just a case of monitoring. Phew ! Thanks for your help x
