very painful thigh bone and knee

over the last few months , painful thigh bone and knee . The pain is worse when resting and lying down - keeping me awake at night for hours . I can stand and walk normally with slight ache but pain +++ at night , already take NSAID’s with no effect

After an xray..I was diagnosed with Osteoarthritis.

I would see your GP and then they can send you for XRay or scan and refer to an Orthopedic Dr . Maybe heat or cold pads can help in the meantime

Hi thank you for reply - I’ve had mri scan which shows bursitis of the hip joint and effusion of the knee - all same side , it’s ok when busy but aching when resting and trying to sleep, I’ve had physio which hasn’t helped - it’s all down my right leg plus hip joint is painful when applying pressure

I’ve similar issues, had X-ray on knee and hip, nothing wrong. Had MRI and waiting for results, dr thinks sciatica?
