I want to know what other (than menopause) health conditions cause hot flashes and night sweats. And what tests are there to confirm the actual reasons. Thank you.

Hot Flashes/Night Sweats - NOT due to Menopause

There are numerous causes...if this is causing concern seek advice from a GP
The most common reasons for night sweats are:
menopause symptoms ("hot flushes")
anxiety
medicines – some antidepressants, steroids and painkillers
low blood sugar (hypoglycaemia)
alcohol or drug use
a harmless condition called hyperhidrosis that makes you sweat too much all the time
Sometimes the cause of night sweats is unknown.

Could be an auto immune disorder, for tests etc it’s hard unless you can narrow it down. Maybe blood test could help
My night sweats is the medication I am on methotrexate and Benepali I am not sure which one it is I think Benepali but I personally would put up with night sweats than no pain from rheumatoid arthritis
Worth getting hormones in general tested, as it can be linked to hormone disruption (even if not menopause)
It could be thyroid issues as well, you should speak to your doctor and get a blood test to see

And when you get your thyroid results, take them to the health unlocked, thyroid forum. You need to ensure that you test T3, doctors usually only test TSH, T4, you need all (there is a £29 test run by the NHS labs, if you dont want to convince your doctor to do all three)
Note: What is perceived as normal levels in the UK, is abnormal in other countries so worth checking your results on the forum.
NB: majority of women get peri menopausal symptoms from 41, some earlier. Menopause is just a definition (1 year since last period), you get all of the same symptoms in the peri menopause, even if your hormone levels show up as ok in tests. Sorry, just listened to the podcast by Dr Louise Newman and found out loads of stuff!! But, looks like uou have ruled this out.
OOOh I'm lad you mentioned he peir menopause no showing up when you test as forr yeas I thought menopause had started u test kept coming ack as neg, and only found one scrap of info that said i could e happening but not bad enough to show up on test, so thank you for the confirmation on that.
I get hot flashes and night sweats from my NSAID medications mefenamic acid and naproxen.
Maybe a thyroid problem.
Hi. I don’t know if you’ll see this answer all this time later, but I’m on day six of a low-histamine diet and my hot flushes have become much less frequent and also weaker - almost as if one starts, then decides not to bother!
I hope you get to the bottom of yours.
