Atm I'm on the pill, been on it for a couple of months now and I've noticed I've started to put weight on and I put it down to my contraception changing but read up the pill im on doesnt put on weight. I've been tired a lot lately, my moods have been a bit up and down, I feel a bit fat and I'm 2 weeks late for my period. I've took pregnancy tests but all came back negative. Don't know if its worth a doctors appointment or not?

You might miss a period every so often if you're taking the contraceptive pill. This is not usually a cause for concern. Some types of contraception, such as the progestogen-only pill (POP), contraceptive injection and intrauterine system (IUS), particularly Mirena, can cause periods to stop altogether.

For peace of mind, and to rule out any other potential causes for the symptoms you’re experiencing, make an appointment with your GP.
The pill won’t cause you to put on weight but it can impact your appetite with the change in the levels of hormones. I had this happen to me before when I was in my teenage years and my dr told me this was very normal and that when your on hormone contraception this can happen. Best thing to do is try not to stress yourself but pop along to see a dr just incase there could be something going on.
