Cauterising cervical cells

Hi everyone!

After a long investigation to work out why I was having pain and bleeding during and after sex, they have finally worked out that I have a very inflamed cervix and they need to burn off the ectropion cells (I may have phrased that wrong!) - as long as my biopsies come back normal.

I was a little flustered when leaving the colposcopy as I was in a lot of pain and just wanted to get out of there!!

Just looking to see if anyone can let me know their experience of this procedure, and if they know if there are any risks involved (I believe the cells can come back? Any risk to fertility, ability to carry to full term, damage to cervix etc?)

Thanks in advance,

Natalie x
