Help with pain down there

Hi, I was wondering if anyone could help me considering my doctor doesn't know what's wrong with me :-(

Before Christmas 2018, so over a month ago, I had what I thought was thrush. Very intense itching and soreness. I just used a soothing cream and didn't use thrush treatment. For the weeks after this, it was just very painful down there and sex hurt too, like a burning and soreness. A few weeks after the thrush came back but this time I decided to buy a thrush treatment. The itching has not come back since that and the treatment did work. But ever since then, and ever since this started back in December, I have pain during sex now. It's really weird, it's cause small tears too? Like on the opening area there are small cuts/tears that if they are touched it stings. I've tried everything, I went to my doctor and he said I'm inflamed from having thrush and I'm just fragile at the moment and that's why sex hurts. I've tried hydrocortisone cream too that he prescribed and it helped, but I'm off that now and it hurts again? The pain is less now than what it was originally, but it is still uncomfortable. The pain now, like I said it not as bad, but I've even tried several times to not have sex for over a week and see if it goes but sex triggers this soreness? It's sore for a few days after too.

I've done STD tests too so I know it's not that, can anyone help? My doctor honestly didn't know what it was, he said it could be psychological, but it hurts after too for a few days?

Can anyone help please??? :-( I'm 21 btw

I’ve just had (maybe still do - awaiting swab results) a bad episode of thrush from antibiotic use. I am still sore down there. I can feel it everytime I bend down/sit up. It’s just so raw/sore. As I say, I’m still waiting for some more swab results but I think it’s vaginitis from the thrush. If you google vaginitis, you’ll probably see a lot of your symptoms match.

Hi thank you for your reply. Just had a quick look and yes similar symptoms, I don't have any spotting and I don't have any odd discharge or odd smells, which is why I didn't thing it was thrush in the first place... guess maybe another doctors trip :-( thank you for your help x

I’ve just had my swabs back and still positive for thrush! My discharge doesn’t smell, but is definitely slightly yellow. I have had no spotting apart from after an internal ultrasound where I was just so sore due to the thrush! X

So this could just be thrush?! God I'm going on holiday next week with my boyfriend and was hoping this would just be sorted..... at least you know what yours is now so that's good! I'll be back to the doctor soon! X

Well, I’d say your previous bout of thrush has cause vaginitis. Whether you still have the thrush though I’m not sure. Would probably be worth a quick check before your holiday! You can buy self testing kits for thrush - canesteen do them. Bit pricey but immediate results x

It could be eczema? Try applying some moisturisers - you have to use something safe for use down there (I recommend coconut oil or you can ask your pharmacist for emulsifying ointment)

Hello thank you for your reply. I never thought of this, I used to suffer with eczma on my arms when I was younger too. I will try coconut oil see if it helps:-) thank you x

I suffered with pain, burning and itching there for quite a while. I discovered it was the washing liquid and conditioner we were using.

I began to wash all underwear, pyjamas etc with only non bio powder and no conditioner and within a week all symptoms were gone.

I’d spent about a year going to the gp and buying thrush treatments.

Try it 😉
