I haven't been here for a long time and need advice to help me cope with pain. For the last few weeks, I have been suffering from major water retention. It started in my knees then slowly went to my legs and feet. I am on water tablets but they don't seem to be doing anything. I can hardly walk and standing up is so painful that I can sit on the edge of the bed or sofa for ages because my mind blocks my legs from moving because I know it's going hurt. It has also gone into my hands now too. I cannot take Ibuprofen because it makes the water retention worse. I can't take another pain killer because I had a reaction. And anything else will make me sick. Does anyone have anything they can recommend. Will heat or ice help? Thank you in advance.

What you write regarding your health seems quite severe. Talk to your doctor as soon as possible about suitable medication or lifestyle changes to reduce your water retention. Pain management might be useful to you.
How is your diet? Are there any changes you can make so that you feel
healthier. Cut out salt, sugar, processed & junk food. Eat more fresh
fruit & vegetables so your digestion & body work better. anhinternational.org/wp-con...
I find magnesium supplements an essential part of my pain management & general health routine. Try taking 400mcg of chelated or bisglycinate with water only at bedtime. Alternately soak in a bath with 500g of magnesium chloride hexahydrate or epsom salt crystals.
Try to improve your circulation with body brushing. Use a soft brush, & make gentle strokes from your extremities towards your heart. Gentle massage might also help.
