Managing menopause

Hi, I’ve just joined the forum. I’ve been experiencing many symptoms such as anxiety, stress, low mood as well as very irregular and many missed periods for a few years now. I’m trying to manage it with natural remedies such as vitamins and herbs and it’s helping to a degree but I still get quite a few episodes of low mood and anxiety in particular.

I’ve also just started Couch to 5k in the hope this will help. I’d be interested to know about other women’s experiences.

Have you thought about taking HRT (hormone replacement therapy)? I'm 70 and my doctor FINALLY as given me a prescription for it...works well for me...very low dose.

Hormones are a bitch! I’m not in menopause, but am experiencing a hormone imbalance and taking testosterone because it was practically at zero. I have many of the symptoms you describe. Anxiety is horrible and I’ve had to take medical leave from work for a month. I am waiting to get the right dose of testosterone to see if that will help. I am so scared about going back to work and having to function while feeling so bad. I also have no appetite and am struggling to make myself eat. I have heard from women in menopause that bioidentical hormone replacement therapy has been a god-send.
