I'm on week 7 of couch to 5k and have just weighed myself for the first time in 6 weeks and i've gained nearly 7lbs. I'm not managing to eat as healthy as I once was due to christmas celebrations (although plan to get back on the slimming world wagon in Jan). Is not normal to gain weight even though i'm exercising frequently?! surely not?!

Vigourous exercise during the weight loss phase is not recommended because it depletes willpower. It is much better to follow a food plan designed for weight loss first, then embark on exercise once your new healthy food habits are firmly in place. Are you familiar with Bright Line Eating? Susan Pierce Thompson's plan suggests setting up four bright lines that we don't ever cross -- no sugar, no flour, 3 meals only with no snacking and weighing/measuring food portions. It may sound rigourous, but it really addresses the 'elephant in the room', which is FOOD ADDICTION. Check out Bright Line Eating online. Hope this helps. Sheila
