Period lasting for six weeks

Hi everyone. I'm new here, and concerned about how long my periods are lasting.

I'm now 20. When I was 17, I was put on Cerelle (the mini pill), to help prevent migraines before my period. I cannot take the regular combined pill because I get migraines. For the first 18 months or so, it worked wonders! I didn't have period for over a year. I was ecstatic. However, about a year ago, my periods returned. I wasn't too concerned, as they were still fairly light and manageable.

Over the past six-eight months, my periods have been getting heavier, longer lasting, and more unpleasant. I'm bleeding almost constantly. It may stop for a day or two, maybe three if I'm lucky, but it always comes back. This current period has lasted close to two months. TWO. MONTHS. Two months of fairly heavy bleeding. I've lost count of the number of pairs of underwear I've ruined, and the number of times I've had to wash my bedsheets. It's driving me nuts, and it shows. My parents, friends, and colleagues have noticed I'm more miserable/irritable than normal. It's incredibly annoying having to go to the bathroom every hour to check you haven't bled all over your clothes. I've argued with my parents about my 'bad attitude', but it isn't deliberate. I'm just sick of bleeding all the time.

Should I go back to the doctor to see if there's anything else they can give me? Is it just that the mini pill doesn't agree with me anymore? I suppose I should mention, my mum had endometriosis when she was around my age.

Many thanks! ❤️

Oh, and I suppose I should mention that my acne has gotten noticeably worse, too. I've always had fairly acne-prone skin, but for the past few months I've had constant acne, too.

I think it might be best to talk to the GP about this because you need to check out any unusual bleeding especially if you're younger. Sorry can't be more help.
