Bleeding for 4 months straight

I'm 19 years old. I'm still a virgin. I'm on a birth control that stops my periods for 3 months. I've have been on the pill for awhile. For the past 4 months, I've been on my period for 4 months straight. I'm passing huge blood clots(size of a quarter). I'm having to change my pad every 30 minutes. I don't know what is wrong but it's very annoying.

I had exactly the same thing at 19. I bled for three months straight and had to change my pad every thirty minutes. I also passed lots of large clots. It was awful and scary. I was eventually dI agonised with endometriosis. I would have a look at the endometriosis uk website to see if you have other symptoms. I just had very painful periods at the time. Then go and see your gp to discuss it with them. I had to see my gp several times before I got a referral to a gynaecologist so stick to your guns if needed. but you will also be getting tired from all the blood loss as I certainly did. Please message me back if you have any questions

Sorry to hear that this is happening to you. A few years after being diagnosed with SLE I had the same symptoms that lasted a year. No one could explain why, and I felt drained which triggered occurrence of flair up which let to me having chemo which diminished my fertility, luckily I already had 2 children. So please check your medications that it will not effect your ability to have children.

As we are not gynaecologists the best thing is to be checked out by Doctor it sounds similar to having fibroids on the womb which can effect women between 16-50 years. Google it.

Best to get your GP to refer you to a gynaecologist, check out endomitriosis uk site as well. I have had same symptoms twice already to years apart. The 2nd time around, I was put on the pill. Remember to insist for a gynaecological referral.

All the best
