I got the mirena coil fitted over 5 years ago for very heavy periods which were making me anaemic , stopped my periods and I am in my 50's the coil can be fitted and stay in for 10 years to see you through the menapause.
Weight Gain? Sorry but I worry about gaining any more weight since being diagnosed with hypothyroidism.
Hi I also had the mirenda coil fitted about 4 years ago. I did feel a little off for the first 6 weeks a few headaches and a little emotional. After that the best thing I've ever done no more periods and no side effects. I have put on a few pounds over the last few years but I think that's more to do with my age than the coil 😃
Thank you
I was told I was severely anemic after experiencing heavy periods following my baby getting older once I started menstruating again. Long story short my obgyn advised that I have my tubes removed and have the nova sure procedure or uterine ablation. It has completely sterilized me and stopped all periods since 2021. Its the most liberating and amazing thing I've ever done. I love it. The other thing that will likely control the flow of your bleeding is to take about 800mg of ibuprofen as soon as your period starts and then take 200-400 mg of ibuprofen every 6 hours for the first 2-3 days. It reduced the flow over 50% for me. It also really pisse me off that they don't tell us these things! If med bled form their penis for a week per month or excessively I would guarantee that there would be tons of treatments
