Help!

Hey guys,

I have this very heavy period and it's lasting more than 7 days! What's do I do? Is it normal?

Can't possibly say without more information.

What is normal for you? 3 days? 4?

How long ago did you start having periods? Recently or for many years?

Are you on any contraceptives?

Are you in unusual pain?

Unfortunately we are all different, I would know when to worry about myself and go to a dr, but I wouldn'tknow for a stranger. If you have only started having periods recently, I would be less inclined to worry as it's perfectly normal for things to take a while to settle down (an old school friend used to menstruate every other month for 2 weeks at first, but eventually settled to monthly after a few years).

Thank you!! That was weight off my shoulders! I did, indeed recently start my periods so I was worried because they usually last 7 days with very light bleeding.

More than likely that's all it is - glad I helped! If you are still worried in a few days you can see your gp, but they will probably tell you much the same. I remember my first were very light and long too, it took a year for mine to settle down and become predictable.
