Hi, ladies. I decided to write here cause I really need your help. I have certain problems with my heart. My GP and cardiologist don’t recommend me to get pregnant. I’m only 31 years and I haven’t had any children before. Now, I’m dating a very nice man. We plan to get married soon, and we’ve also decided not to take risks with my health. We want to find a surrogate to carry and give to our child. As we’re from the UK, we may find a surrogate there. But neither my future husband nor I have a close friend or relative who would help us. We don’t want to deal with strangers because according to the British laws, a surrogate is considered to be a biological mum of the child. She has to reject her rights to the baby before the intended parents will be considered the true parents of the baby. We’ve got interested in Ukraine. According to the Ukrainian laws, the intended parents are considered to be the true parents of the baby. We liked this fact very much. We contacted one Ukrainian clinic. It’s called Biotexcom. The clinic had quite a lot of favorable feedbacks on various fertility forums, so we decided to visit them too. Here is our feedback about this clinic. Firstly, this clinic turned to be a small private villa. It was so tiny and overcrowded, that we had to wait nearly 2 hours to consult the doctor. We saw large queues nearly everywhere. In addition, we met one couple from France there. They were getting their oocyte donation program there. The husband was annoyed very much, because he had to wait nearly an hour to pick up his sperm. Bad organization was seen everywhere: overcrowded clinic halls, unfriendly and busy staff, tired and very formal administrators. The doctor whom we met spoke with us very formally. We clearly understood that she treated us like dozens of other patients. Of course, we didn’t sign up a contract, and now we are thinking what to do further… I just want to ask your opinion about this clinic… Is there anybody here who has contacted it? What do you think about the clinic that can’t organize its work properly?
P.S. We have also visited another Ukrainian clinic. It was Nadia. The clinic looks rather presentable. We were met by a courteous administrator, polite manager and a very soothing doctor. We liked the way we were treated there. However, the clinic hall was nearly empty if compared with Biotexcom. Can we trust this clinic??? Or maybe it’s better to contact another clinic or maybe another country???

Hello missj20! I'm so sorry about problems with your heart, that's awful not to be able to have a baby when you're so young. Fortunately, we still have a chance given by God or just by simple people, scientists.
I didn't deal with surrogacy but I know something about the first clinic you mentioned, Biiotexcom. On Monday it was my first visit with consultation and examination. I can't say that crowds were too long, we waited for 10 min aand then the doctor was ready to talk to us. Yes, I agree, the doctor was formal but does it change anything? Is she supposed to be the nicest woman ever or a good doctor? I don't understand people who judge others by what they see. Remember tvshow "Dr.House'. He was brilliant and genius doctor but you'll never call him sweet or so. And I'm sure you can remember a doctor who was so nice to you but wasn't able to define what type of cough do you have or which pills to prescribe you. Don't you think that it's not accidentaly thet there are many people? I agree, the building is tiny but the can't just change it for another one in a minute, you see? If they need time to find a better place they can lose lots of their clients, and think of that couples who want to sign for it. So you are judging professionals by their ability to smile for you and to pretend you're the most special client? Well, then I guess you need to chose Nadia.
Hi, Missj20. You should think twice before doing anything. At least, you should check the way they treat surrogates. It’s the key moment in choosing the clinic. If the surrogate gets all necessary things to feel comfortable during her pregnancy, it’s great. I would also advise to google some information about this clinic. At least, you may visit some fertility forums and read feedbacks about this clinic there.
Hi, ladies. Thanks for your messages. They’ve become a real support to me. Before choosing the clinic to contact, I really did my homework. I visited quite a lot of fertility forums. I did find quite a lot of favorable feedbacks about Biotexcom. I guess it was the main reason why we visited them..
I see, dear! But you should be 100% sure that your surrogate will get a good care during her pregnancy. Your future baby’s life and health will depend greatly on this woman as he will live inside her the following 9 months. The surro mum should eat well and get all necessary medical care during her pregnancy. If I were in your shoes, I would check the way the clinic is going to treat the surrogate very carefully. In addition, they should find really responsible woman. She must totally understand what she’s going to do the following 9 months.
The clinic’s representatives offer us to sign up a contract. According to this contract, they must find an appropriate surrogate for us. She must be a young and healthy woman. She must have at least one healthy child. The woman must also pass a rigorous psychological test to find out whether she’s ready to become a surrogate mum or not. According to the contract the clinic has to supply a surrogate with all necessary things to make her feel comfortable during her pregnancy. Every month she’ll get a certain sum of money to pay her living expenses (including, food and apartment). The clinic will also provide a surrogate with all necessary medications and medical services. Every month, she has to visit a clinic and do an ultrasound check. All delivery expenses will also be paid by the clinic. In case of premature delivery, the clinic will supply the baby with all necessary medications. A surrogate will also get a medical insurance. In case of abortion or miscarriage after the 12th pregnancy week, the surrogate will get a money compensation. This is how the clinic is going to treat our surrogate. What do you think about it? Please, share your ideas with me.
Hi, missj20. If I were in your shoes, I would get to know some details on whether you’ll be able to leave Ukraine and enter your own country with a baby easily. It’ vital to do this because you need to be sure that everything will be ok. You can consult an attorney. Bring him the contract you’re to sign up and he’ll tell you whether it’s ok or not. Just be cautious, hun! I wish you good luck! Xxx
Hi, BlueSwalow. Thanks for your post!!! Now, I’m going to tell you why’ve chosen this clinic. Firstly, we consider Ukraine to have very favorable surrogacy laws. According to Ukrainian laws, the intended parents have the entire rights to the baby. It means we don’t need to ask a surrogate to reject her rights to the baby. Secondly, the clinic will help us in getting the baby’s Birth Cerificte. Our names will be included there. The clinic representatives will also do the Birth certificate’s translation. We’ll use the baby’s Birth Certificate to leave Ukraine and enter our country.
Sounds nice! I agree with you that Ukraine has really favorable surrogacy laws. Nevertheless, you should hire a professional babysitter to take care after your baby. It will be nice if your baby will be regularly checked by a doctor. Newly born angels need so much love and care and attention!!! Do you read any books for moms-to-be? I’m a mum of two 4-year-old twins. Just pm any time you need a piece of advice!
Wow, hun… It’s great to hear that you are a mom of twins!!! Have you conceived them naturally or used any treatment? I’ve already read several books for moms to be and even visited some seminars and lectures. However, the clinic we’re going to deal with will also help us with a baby care. They’ll provide us with an attending babysitter. She’ll come daily and will take care of our child for at least 4 hours. The baby will also be checked daily with the attending doctor. In urgent cases, we’ll be able to phone 24/7 hot line and consult an English-speaking pediatrician. The specialist may even visit our apartment if it’s necessary.
Hi! I’m 41 years old and I also dream of becoming a mum. The thing is I have some distinctive problems with my kidneys. It’s the main reason why I can’t get pregnant and need a surrogate to carry and give birth to my child. We’ve also got interested in Ukraine and plan to ask a Ukrainian reproductive clinic help us find a surrogate. However, this country doesn’t seem to be a safe place nowadays. Is it really so?
No, Ukraine is a safe place to come. At least, we visit Kiev, the capital city and it was rather safe to be there. We were met at the airport and then went to the clinic. We meet our program manager and she was our interpreter. She helped us to communicate with the doctors. We didn’t even have to look for an apartment as the clinic provided us with a comfortable apartment not far from the city center. They even supplied us with free meals! All in all, I liked Kiev. It seems to be a really modern city. In addition, the prices are really low there.
Hun, will they charge any additional fees for these services. As far as I know, some fertility clinics like doing this… Is Biotexcom the same???
P.S. My close friend used to cycle in Russia. The clinic was ok. They liked the prices and the doctors. However, they fertility specialist started to ask them to do various medical tests. It made the final sum soo huge and nearly emptied their bank accounts…
No, I don’t think they would charge any additional fees from us. We have to sign up a contract with them. According to this contract, the clinic will charge only a fixed sum. This sum can be divided into several installments. The payments are usually made either in cash or via a bank transfer. However, the clinic may fine you if you don’t do certain tests on time. Do you think it’s fair?
I think it’s quite ok that the clinic may fine its patients. If you don’t want to get in such situation, you should read the contract very attentively. Finally, don’t forget that they would look for a surrogate for you. This woman will have to start taking medications to prepare for surrogacy. All those hormones may influence on her health…
P.S. Hun, have you decided what to do further? Will you deal with Biotexcom?
At present we’re pondering what to do further. The clinic seems to be a nice choice. They have rather reasonable prices compared with their counterparts. We also liked the fact they would provide us with accommodation and transportation services. I think it’s really handy. However, they have large queues and loads of patients. A noisy atmosphere makes us a little bit nervous…
I think you should trust your gut in this situation as you’re the one who would choose which clinic to deal with. According to the things you’ve mentioned in the posts the clinic seems to be ok. They provide a full package of services like living, finding a surrogate and watching her during her pregnancy and etc. It’s great that they provide you with a babysitter and even help the intended parents in getting the papers to leave the country. I think all these things sound quite ok… If I were in your shoes, I would contact their client manager and try to have a talk with him about the things you disliked about their services. Good luck in your journey! Xxx
The thing is, my DH talked with them several weeks ago. He had a long talk with their client’s manager. She apologized and told him that the clinic was really busy that days. They plan to open three more offices in Kiev to serve their clients better. The clinic’s client manager offered us to visit the clinic one more time. She said that they would do their best to organize our visit better than it was during the first time. We decided to visit them the following month.
MissJ20, I’m really glad for you and your family. It’s really cool that your fertility journey will start soon. I wish you good luck and hope to read about your updates soon. I wish loads of baby dust come at you during your ED journey.
P.S. It’s great that your hubby has talked with their client manager and told them about the things you disliked. If they are a reputable clinic, they would do all possible things to make you feel comfortable during your visit. You may also contact your program coordinator every time you have any problems.
WhiteCrow, thanks for your support! I really need it these days. I feel so nervous now. We decided to visit Biotexcom the following month. We really liked their prices and egg donation package. We talked with our new program coordinator. She turned to be sweet. I hope she would be able to organize our future visit better.
MissJ20, I’m really glad for you. I hope everything will be ok, and soon you’ll share your updates with us here. I’ve also found several threads about Biotexcom on various fertility forums. They do have loads of patients, but I think it’s better to deal with the clinic that can guarantee a good success, instead of wasting time on ineffective services. I’m sure they would do their best to please you this time. I’m really looking forward to hear about your updates, hun. Best luck in your ED journey!
Yesterday I also hear about a clinic in Ukraine. It seems It was BiotexCom too, but I am not sure. My good friend did surrogacy there a year ago. And nowadays she says she is absolutelly contented.
Yes, she told they must wait a month after passing all tests. But its standard procedure. Results of analyzes should come, specislists must choose suitable surrogacy mom. I'm a bit surprised of your post, yesterday I met her and she shared she was consulting by ukrainians doctors from this clinic about her own problem (she is diagnosed with PCOS) and they didn't have to. It says about kindness and good attitude.
Just wanted to say clinic in Ukraine doesn`t mean that everything is totally bad. Maybe, you were in different clinics and we told about different things. (I will specify later the name of the clinic and I will write here). And maybe there too, there are branches of this clinic or it also depends on people. One doctor can behave a little moderate, the other can be more friendly. In any case, my friend looks very happy and she grows a pretty little girl.
If its still still relevant, I will remember detailed information and I hope it has been helpful.
If you have already found a good clinic for yourself let it be all right. I wish you a beautiful little baby and family happiness.
You know, after all, I remember right. It also was a BioTexCom. Her daughter is nearly a year old. It mean my friend was there a year ago - they took the child. And the contract with clinic was signed in 2015. Maybe there was something different in servicing or they replaced staff. It could've gone any number of ways. But one-two years ago there was all right
In any case, wish to find a suitable clinic for you. good luck!
