Hi there. I am 45 and after 2 really stressful weeks of tests I have been diagnosed with multiple uterine fibroids. One is do big 16 X11 x9 that it has broken through from the uterus into my abdomen hence my acute pain. Size also impacting on my breathing. Am told not suitable for any other treatment than removal in the form of abdominal hysterectomy. I have opted for total hysterectomy so ovaries & cervix out as well. Have been told will be put on list for urgent op as in urgent no other treatment not urgent life/death. Am relieved about diagnosis but worried about continued pain when consultant could not explain but said she was worried about and worried about hysterectomy as such a major op. Would appreciate hearing about any similar experiences and hystorectomy recovery. Thank you so much x
