Hi Jenne,

I too started really well and lost 8lbs in the first two weeks, I then went on holiday for four days and once back I found it really difficult to get back on track so put the weight back on again. I tried to start again on Easter Saturday but not too good, anyway I got my "sensible head" back on this Tuesday and also installed MyFitness Pal onto my phone, you just put in your details, how much you weigh how many pounds you would like to lose each week and what you would like to weigh and it calculates how many calories you should consume each day to get to your goal.

I find that MFP and the health unlocked site contain some really inspirational stories from people just like us and sometimes there are some good tips e.g. I sometime dry fry mushrooms when I come in from work before I have my evening meal, I put pepper on them and this seems to stop me craving the biscuits I would normally have.

It's now Saturday and I'm planning what I am going to have this weekend plus exercise because if I leave it to chance I know I will fail. I have lost 2lbs since Tuesday so I know I can get back on track.

Be kind to yourself, we all need a break and just remember that holiday weight is not the end of the world, just remember why you want to lose the weight and get planning and moving ASAP.

Good luck x

Hope you get back on track, Jenne. It will be worth it.

Never say things like 'after this weekend' - start right now! If you're writing this blog entry you must be motivated to lose weight. Instead of planning for the future, get up and do a work out NOW! Take this opportunity to go through your food cupboards now and throw away anything junkie you might in future go snacking on when a craving hits.

Basically, harness what you're feeling right now to take a positive step in the right direction. You'll feel so much better you did, even if it's just doing as many press ups and sit ups as you can, cleaning the house or flat, or getting out into the garden now that it's starting to warm up.

Like you and tubby2-I am back to square one-sigh! All as a result of 'good times' - so back on wagon today -listless and dull -but I know I can lose weight -just need to break the cycle doikosp so eloquently aired.

Reading your post today and the comments has cheered me up and feel much more positive rather than grumpy diet blues. Keep at it everyone.
