Hi ... I am new on here too however I have lost 10 stone in total and now at my target weight. To do this I did absolute zero excersize. It is all in the planning of what you are going to eat and taking steps towards that healthier you. X

Hi Pamed and welcome. I just want to say that I find the principles of the NHS 12 week plan to be both effective and sensible. So my suggestion would be to find out what your daily calorie intake should be if you want to lose a pound or two a week, start counting calories, registering everything you eat and drink (I use My Fitness Pal for that, very easy and user friendly). It is very educational - you get to understand the different foods very well and you get a sense of what portion sizes you should allow yourself. Also, I suggest you weigh-in with us on Mondays and - if you have any interest what so ever in learning how to run - do the NHS Couch to 5K programme. It is fantastic! I started running in March, graduated the programme in May and now I run 3-4 times a week and I truly love it. It has helped my weight loss a lot. Eating sensible is at the core of weight loss but exercise makes me fit, strong and happy! Keep posting. We will cheer you on all the way :-)

How lovely thank you so much for your help really appreciate it is nice of you to give good help and advice and that is always welcome, I count my calories every day and I am cutting out sugar Except what is in food naturally . I only started on Sunday but I think I'm doing ok have not cheated and don't intend to .I must say I'm not hungry yet!! Lol hubby is doing it as well so we help one an other , we have a allotment so we will be up there when we have the spare time . But I am unable to run , never mind I will walk with hubby when he gets better .

Glad you enjoyed your holiday , let's hope the sun shines for you next week so glad you enjoy your running.

Fingers crossed for us both on Monday at the weigh in xx

Thank you :-) It sounds great that you are in this with your husband. Support is very important.

Walking burns quite a lot of calories as well, so keep walking :-)
