I've gone back to the 5-2 diet or should I say way of life. Is very easy to do and can be changed to suit, I do fasts on Monday and Thursday and get weighed on Fridays.I started 3 weeks ago and have lost 16lbs so far. A big loss the first week then lower the next two weeks.

Well done. I might try that again. That’s a brilliant loss. 👍

This time I'm doing liquid fasts instead of 800 calories.

That’s fabulous I wish I could stick to it! My husband is slim and loves his food especially chocolate, when he has I have , got to be strong minded to say no. I’m 90 kg &165cm I loose a little then put it back just as quickly ☹️help

I'm coming up to 40 hours fasting. It's easier when you don't eat anything, when I did the 800 calories as soon as I had food I was hungry again. I'll probably do 42 hours then eat, going shopping later in the supermarket so will see what I fancy. I do love chocolate but will wait until Christmas for that. I gave up smoking about 10 years ago and used the things that helped me quit to cut down on food.I smoked 40/60 a day.

Well Done, I am trying to do 16:8 while healthy eating , its a way to psychologically say STOP for the day…we’ll see if I can do it xx

I've just done almost 45 hours fast, it was harder this time but stuck with it. Will try another on Thursday. Can eat now for a couple of days.

That's a sound approach to take - you can work towards it by degrees e.g. lengthen by and hour, see how that goes, and then another hour. You can get into a steady, normal pattern. You really don't need to get into sustained fasting to see good results

I have done intermittent fasting on and off for a few years. Normally I lose about a pound a week. The liquid fasts I've only done for two weeks only done one this week and one at 800 calories.I originally lost 3 stone so I could have knee replacements but the pain went after losing 3 stone so I never had the surgery.

Hi brads, I was suggesting to Miss-guineapig that there are many different approaches. People tend to be "admiring" of lengthy fasts as though it were something to be praised or looked up to but it's just another approach and I'm pleased it's working for you

Thank you for this xx

I only do 16:8 as in my head it’s a cut off for each day…or I’d eat every day 😂😂 I support a daily balanced diet…as a retired nurse .I following normal healthy eating, so I know I should get slow steady weight loss …if I keep of the sweet staff. Best of luck to you Bridge girl x

Liquid fasts are very difficult at first but easier once you get your head round it. When I do 800 fasts I'm always hungry after eating but liquid fasts is ok , not hungry.

I know it's carbs for me, and a couple of years ago I was in a very steady low carb routine but I rather lost my way - silly, as it's so obvious to me where the problem lies, and I had loads of low carb recipes I enjoyed

Me too, love a bit toast. I had to take my hubby to hospital today and they’ve kept him in..,nothing too serious. But I came home and hade 2 bowls of cornflakes as I couldn’t be bothered cooking, so not a great day or great start. But there’s tomorrow x

Hope you soon have him home so he can eat the cornflakes :)

Only started doing it last week, before that I was doing 800 calories fast days

That’s quite scary. I thought it was for just one day.

Honestly, brads27 is just taking one approach to weight loss. "Diets" aren't something to be praised: it can get a bit competitive and that's not particularly useful for anyone

You have to do 2 days fasting, dosent have to be liquid fasts, you can have 800 calories on the two fast days. I just think it's easier not eating because once I have had food I want more.

Experiencing a gradual decrease in weight loss after the initial weeks is a common and expected occurrence on a wellness journey. This adjustment period is part of your body adapting to the new eating pattern, and it signifies a shift to a more sustainable pace. It's important to recognize that a healthy rate of weight loss typically ranges between 1-2 pounds per week. Swift weight reduction may lead to muscle loss or nutritional imbalances, underscoring the importance of maintaining a balanced and nutrient-dense diet. For those seeking a wholesome snack alternative, discovering how to make banana chips in air fryer can be a delightful addition to your wellness routine.
