So I've lost all my weight and I'm currently 6lb into the healthy weight zone and have been there for about 5 weeks and there is no budging.
I've tried upping exercise, but eating exactly what my lose it app is telling me to eat which is 1456 calories daily and it's made no difference.
I really couldn't deal with cutting calories further as I'm already starving as it is. Ok, slight exaggeration, but you get the idea lol
I'm thinking of starting the 5:2 diet as I can deal with it, if I had my 2 low cal days say on a Monday and a Thursday and ate normally the rest of the time without pigging out. I can exercise on the 5 "normal" days.
I'm sure some of you have followed this diet and if so, can you please give me some tips about how to do it and what you eat on the fasting days to stay healthy and not feel like you're going to faint.
I've not done this as I just know I'd be too hungry on the two low calorie days. A lot of us seem stuck at the moment, I wish I could come up with a brilliant solution for us all, or just wave a magic wand!
Hi there. I am currently doing the 5:2 diet. I would suggest watching clips on YouTube. On your fasting days you need to aim for gaps of 12 hours between meals. On your non-fasting days eat healthily. Good luck.
The 5:2 diet seems to work well for some people, but doesn't suit everyone. Changing what you eat may be just as effective.
If you have a read of what Michael Mosely has written about diet, he says that he cut down on starchy foods but went back to eating full fat to lose weight and improve his health. Where your calories come from is important because different foods have different effects on your metabolism.
I'm in a similar situation isou7000, though I am a couple of pound over the healthy weight range. I have tried changing my diet and increasing my exercise but just seem to be stuck. Haven't tried the 5:2 plan, don't know how I'd cope on the two fasting days but I know a couple of people who have had good results on it.
Let us know if you do it and how you get on
I am currently eating around 1300 calories a day on average π
Try green tea before eating, eating low-cal veggies, and THEN some protein. I have found that green tea before a meal helps me feel steadier for hours.
Hi everyone - thank you so much for all your helpful advice. I have a really busy day today, so I will read everything properly and keep you updated. Have a great WE π
Hi sounds strange but I have found eggs great v filling as an omelette, on non stick pan low heat & can pile veg in like peppers, mushrooms, spinach, tomatoes, onions & garlic & maybe even chili if you like & can even have them boiled as a snack with a little salt & pepper, maybe try smoothie's & juice with some wheatgrass powder v healthy - good luck & I hope this helps
