I've gained 40 pounds / 3 stone in about 2 years or so. I have thyroid disease, fibromyalgia, scoliosis, Ehlers Danlos and have a lot of trouble recovering from chronic injuries. Now that I'm in my 40s I'm stiff and in pain. The weight gain has really impacted my self esteem and my sex life with my husband - even though I am not a vain, superficial person and am body positive. I don't have much hope for losing weight because everything I try doesn't seem to work but I am feeling determined to really go for it this year. I think I am becoming prediabetic and I'm scared. I don't want to die young like my parent did.
This is my first time in an online community like this. Most of my friends and family are lean and don't have health issues. I live in a part of the world where most people are quite thin. No one gets it. It's lonely out here!
