I'm 19 and lately I haven't been very happy with my health and weight. I am looking to start my weight loss journey on the 5th Jan (although I am cutting back and watching what I eat already) and I'm really looking to get as much help as I can as the people around me can't take me seriously, since I quit most things that I start.
I have downloaded and printed out the NHS guide and made my own food diary and will be recording all my measurements and have printed out my starting pictures.
I'm just wondering if anyone has any tips to help me out? I do find it hard to stick at things because I don't have the motivation and support (just the complete opposite) so any help will be greatly appreciated.
I want to do this for my appearance but mainly for health as I always seem to feel run down and groggy and I'm 100% fed up with not feeling happy and healthy.
Food is a real issue for me as I'm really fussy and don't like many things so recipes or ideas are welcome!
Anything you can think of please fire at me.
I WANT TO DO THIS!
Thanks Everyone...

I wish I had had the strength and courage (and opportunity) to be as honest as you have been when I was 19!
Best of luck with your weight loss journey. It's not necessarily going to be easy all the time, but it will definitely be worth it.

Thank-you very much, I'm excited to see the results.
Hi and welcome to the group. Many people here going through similar situations here so you are in good company.
Well done on making such a positive decision i wish i had when i was 19. This group should hopefully give you the support, advice and motivation you need to stay strong and keep going. Its not going to be easy, nothing worth having doesnt come without hard work but it is doable and very rewarding!!
I follow the 12 week plan too and use a couple of things to keep me focused
1. Fill in my myfitnesspal app everything i eat
2. Fill out an exercise journal
3. Use the chart in the 12 week plan
4. Remind myself daily why i am doing this
5. Believe when people say nice things to me
I think the main thing that has kept me at the diet this time is that i was finally in the mindset to do and stick to it long enough to see results. I always thought i was a fussy eater but have been surprised with the types of meals i have managed to come up with. Prawn stir fry being one, as i was unsure of sea food, still loads i havent tried but prawns and salmon ive found i like, also cous cous, low calorie and really yummy i tend to use it instead of pasta and rice and i love it! Another thing that surprised me is quorn sausages, 124cal for 2 and they taste like herby sausages to me which is great. I found it was all about trial and error really, finding what you like or making healthy adjustments to fave meals.
Just take one day at a time. I'm taking one meal at a time, and planning all the way. If you dont plan, that's when the snacking and takeaways come in! Write everything down. And DONT beat yourself up if you have a bad day x
Thank-you, seems like a good idea! Snacking and takeaways are a big problem too, but my boyfriend said he will help me out so that will stop the temptation as he always wants takeaways. I envy that he never gains weight! Ha x
Bathany, I will be a week behind you, as stating the plan on Monday, so I will happily push you from behind or you could maybe pull me along sometimes. Just you shout when you need a push. Good Luck
